How do you move through stress and anxiety when little things pop up? Do you have any tools or methods that you lean on when you feel overwhelmed?

The one thing that I always come back to whenever feelings of stress or anxiety arise is my breath. I slow it down, and by doing so it signals to my nervous system, to every cell within my body that I am safe. When we are in fight or flight mode, or breathing changes so the fastest way to change our states is by simply slowing down how we are breathing and then slowing it down some more.

Alongside this, I find focusing on my surrounding really helps as well. For example, bringing my awareness to the way the light is streaming through the trees which creates varying shades of color, or noticing how the breeze feels against my skin. Doing this brings us into the present moment. Out of the past or future and into our bodies in this very moment. Another powerful way to do this is with the use of essential oils, when we engage with the oil we are present with it and depending what oil you are using, will have a myriad of benefits to really help support you move through any discomfort with ease.

Who are the teachers or women who primarily supported your journey of stepping into your power and owning your light?

Oh this is such a beautiful question. There are many women who have supported me and continue to do so. I am very lucky to be surrounded by the most incredible women.

To narrow this down a little for you, I would say my Mum - always. I am fortunate in having a truly beautiful mother who has always been a constant source of strength and love. Her unwavering belief in me has helped me move through some of the most challenging times, times when I did know how to take the next step. My Mum was there with a hand outreached and a heart full of love. I am a woman of divine feminine strength because a strong and divinely feminine woman raised me.

And the other woman who has impacted my life greatly and continues to do so is Hayley Carr. Hayley is my coach, guide and dear friend and we have a truly beautiful relationship. Having her in my corner and walking this path with me has changed everything. She is the kind of woman that really does make you see who you really are, and not only see it, but truly become it. Her heart is vast, her skill and passion immeasurable.

I would not be where I am today without either of these women and I count my blessings daily to have them both in my life.

There are so so so many women that have helped me, that have made me laugh, made me cry, held my hand, hugged me, encouraged me, told me some truths when it would have been easier not to, have sung, danced and weaved their magic with me. All have had an impact on my life and I am so deeply grateful for each and every one.

What is the most fulfilling aspect of partnering with doTERRA and sharing the magic of essential oils? Did you consciously see your business growing to the level you’ve now reached when you first began this journey?

Another beautiful question. One of the most fulfilling aspects (and there are MANY) are my women and WomanKind. Without a doubt. The community, the connection, the love - these women bring the true meaning to term ‘sisterhood’. Without these women, I would not be where I stand in my business today, and undoubtedly where I will stand in years to come. These women are my greatest learners, supporters and above all, my friends. Each with a deep desire and vision for something more from life for themselves, their families and their own communities.

Individually and collectively, Womankind fills my heart and my soul. It has helped me move through layers and meet parts of myself in ways that I didn’t know possible or even existed. It hasn’t always been a smooth journey, following a path less followed will always see us facing fear, doubt and questioning ourselves but moving through the discomfort was ever the only option, and this is such an integral part of what WomanKind stands for. The continued journey of self discovery.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I signed up to partner with doTERRA but I had a feeling, my intuition telling me this was the right thing for me and I trusted it. My intuition is my biggest steer in my life and my business. Simply, if it feels right, I do it and if it doesn’t, I don’t. I couldn’t have dreamt what has unfolded with WomanKind through consciously choosing to partner with doTERRA, but I truly believe, that’s the magic of trusting yourself and allowing the universe to guide you exactly where it needs too.

Can you tell us a bit about your Sacred Book Club you launched this year?

Absolutely! I was talking to my wing woman, Frou Williams, one day, about all of the books we so love to read (often at any one time I have 5 or 6 by my bed) losing hours and days to the written word, and we both agreed how great it would be if there was a place we could come together to share our key takeaways, what we loved and what struck a chord and maybe even what didn’t, but to create a sacred space where people could share those thoughts and findings. We figured, we probably had all the books on the bookshelf anyway, so why not dust them off and have a beautiful support group with you as you journeyed through the pages of each book.

This is also the first project for my newest and completely heart led venture, HumanKind - a profit for purpose organization leading with kindness and bringing light to the darkness... This is a grassroots movement which means every quarter we collect donations and 100% is used to buy books for varying charities and groups that we are working with.

Sacred Book Club has a heartbeat and that is the extending and giving of books to those who we know will truly benefit from them the most. The power of pages. We stand for human connection, community and alignment, always.

As a community we are gifting books, and any book nerd knows the power of that. Books take us places we have never been before, they open us up to new ways of thinking and being.

I wholeheartedly believe words and books are magic, so let’s spread that worldwide!

How do you feel strengthening your intuition has helped improve your life, career, and relationships?

I always talk about intuition as the intuition muscle because the more you use it and the more you test it, the stronger that instinct and less hesitation you’ll have around making decisions (no matter how big or small) and how you show up in your life with change. Cultivating a deeper trust and listening to the whispers (or often shouts) from my intuition has helped me to develop a strong back soft front approach that trickle through my life, career and all of my relationships.

It’s also really helped me to unapologetically embody my message to the world even when perhaps things haven’t made logical or linear sense at the time, but trusting that intuition has ultimately led to more calm, clarity and a greater sense of self than anything I’ve ever experienced. Go in when you need answers honey. Trust and believe.

What are 3 nuggets of wisdom you feel you could share based on your experience, with someone who is dreaming of starting their own soul-centered business, or recently has, but may be experiencing doubt & fear?

1. Self Compassion

You have to learn how to be your own best friend on the crazy, unpredictable, higher than high, lower than low ride of being a business owner in our fast changing modern landscape. Owning a business will have you see the best and the worst, and the only way to ride those waves is to have an unwavering love, kindness and compassion for yourself and all that you’re trying to achieve. Daily self care rituals, being out in nature and mindfulness, along with oils for emotional wellbeing plays a huge part of my soulpreneur toolkit. What does your toolkit look like to you?

2. Beginners Mindset, Open Heart and Determination That Won’t Quit

You’ll wear many hats when you’re first starting out; from CEO, graphic designer, event manager, accountant, sales, and IT to name just a few, and if you meet everything with that beginners mindset, open heart and deep passion and determination to being open to learn and to being your own support team it truly will help you get through on the moments and days where you feel like giving up. As the brilliant saying goes, ‘Learn to rest not quit.’

3. Find Your Tribe

Surround yourself with the people who lift you up, who believe in you, who challenge you and help you to grow every single day. The ones who are in the trenches with you, helping you through the doubts, the tears and the uncertainty. The ones who will drink tea + wine respectively with you in the good times and hold your hands and be there with open arms in the bad. When you find your tribe, love them hard.

Do you have a daily spiritual practice? If so, does it change or do you prefer structure around it?

Even when I was younger, I always felt an intrinsic sense of being part of something larger than just myself and my family. I could feel and sense the pulse and current of the universe. As an adult, I love learning about different rituals and ceremonies which I weave into my business and everyday life. Taking inspiration from mother nature, moon cycles, meditations, friends and sacred alone time.

As a natural introvert and sensitive soul, it’s incredibly important for me to remain grounded and connected. Obviously with life, I ebb and flow with my routines especially when I travel for business, but on the whole my daily spiritual practice is guided by firstly tuning into what I feel as though I need in that given moment.

Is it more rest? Is it some self love and then perhaps I’ll listen to a guided meditation, read poetry or put pen to paper. Getting out in nature and having time away from my phone is another huge part of my daily practice; I need it to fill my inspiration cup up. Other things, such as my daily cup of coffee and times with my puppies, truly are part of the tapestry that brings me harmony, ease and contentment.

What is coming up next for you? In your career and on your own personal journey of growth and expansion?

Oh this is a big and exciting question! Where do I begin? I have big darling plans for my business and my life, and I continue each and every day to take the path less travelled with one step after the other, feeling into and continuing to a build a life and a business that I adore. The last few years have really been about building a solid foundation to launch off the lily pad from.

From here, and with my team, I am planning some beautiful things that will help me not only uplevel as a leader and business owner, but as a radiant conscious human as well. I will always be an eternal student of the world, I love learning and I love sharing what I uncover as I go. I can’t wait to share more in 2018 and 2019.
